Doctors website creates quiz app

A professional network of doctors has created two medicine quizzes for portable devices, marketed at doctors and healthcare staff.

Doctors.net.uk has launched a free app, Medical Quiz Lite, as well as Medical Quiz Premium, which cost £1.49. The products can be found on iTunes and comprise a multi-choice quiz and learning games.

The free app includes basic medical knowledge, while the paid app teaches users about specific subject areas, such as therapeutics, cardiology and general practice.

Dr Tim Ringrose, CEO of Doctors.net.uk, said: “Education is becoming increasingly important to doctors with the introduction of revalidation, and with heavy workloads, busy lifestyles and growing economic pressures, doctors need to find convenient and effective ways to fit continuing medical education (CME) around their schedule.”

He added that the app quizzes can be completed by healthcare professionals within minutes and have been designed to be entertaining as well as educational.

The new app adds to Doctors.net.uk’s line of smartphone apps, which features a healthcare news app and a conference news app.
